    This book offers a ground-breaking analysis of how women's movements have been remaking citizenship in multicultural Europe. Presenting the findings of a large scale, multi-disciplinary cross-national feminist research project, FEMCIT, it develops an expanded, multi-dimensional understanding of citizenship as practice and experience. This book has told a somewhat unconventional story about the Italian economy. Unlike writers of popular accounts which portray Italy as the “sick man” of Europe, I have tried to tell a more nuanced and differentiated tale, one that recognizes not simply the country’s many political-economic problems but also its impressive rates of.
